International Print Day in May.

One of my favourite techniques to use when printmaking is overlapping prints and building up a more intricate design from a simple starting point.

Here these simple shapes have been printed and rotated up to 3 times. I plan to add a simple bird design over the top of the grey print when I have done the third rotation, hopefully I’ll be ready for International Print Day in May this Saturday when Firestation Print Studio will be busy with people visiting to do lots of printing.

The idea of International Print Day in May is that print makers all over the world are creating something wonderful. Should be good fun. Come and have a look!
